The Indian cricket team which won the T20 world cup is expected to arrive in the Delhi on Thursday morning; as a result, there has been intensive security operations at both the airport and the hotel where they will be based before leaving for Mumbai.
Security arrangements have been made from IGI Airport till ITC Maurya Hotel.
The chartered flight carrying the Indian national cricket team will touch down at around 6 am. It will be flying in from Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport.
According to one senior police officer, they would however provide them armed policemen with escort vehicles from the airport.
It is expected that a large number of fans will line up along their travel routes as well as outside the hotel to mark their entrance.
Therefore, enough police presence will be deployed starting from the airport to the hotel.
There should be at least two paramilitary forces companies ring fencing around hotel and central Delhi routes.
Potential cricket lovers might gather at routes or outside of this hotel for congratulating team India for their World T20 win according law enforcement authorities.
Afterwards by 11 a.m., an appointment is scheduled for them with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence just before they return back to their hotel where later they are going to leave for Mumbai around 4 p.m.
Later on, there will be a road show in open bus followed by felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
