In Yulin, a southern city of China, the punishment given to a three-year-old girl called Jiajia by her father following her excessive watching of television has sparked debate. On this particular occasion as he was preparing dinner the father raised his voice calling his daughter to come to the table but she didn’t hear him because she was so engrossed in watching TV.
Angry with Jiajia’s behavior, the father switched off the TV causing her to burst into tears.
