Hvaldimir is a white whale with an odd backstory, which gained the attention of public in Norway. Last Saturday, that whale was discovered lifeless at some southwestern region of the country. Claims have been made by some organizations like One Whale including NOAH that the whale was murdered and sentenced investigations are recommended into the said death of the whale.
In 2019, the beluga whale came to the public’s attention when it was seen in the Finnmark region of Norway under harness, which triggered theories regarding some kind of military training by the Russians. People have warned these suspicions by saying that all sorts of wires have been found on Hvaldimir’s harness with all the labels including “Equipment St. Petersburg”, without really being answered by the respective Russian authorities.
Animal rights groups call for action
One Whale, one of the Non Profits which is focused on saving Hvaldimir, and NOAH, the largest animal advocacy group in Norway have both raised ed flags on the death of the whale. In their comment, One Whale expressed that they have fears that Hvaldimir was strategically assassinated, as they had noticed gunshot marks on him.
However, advocating the unconfirmed theories relating to Hvaldimir’s death, One Whale further replied back to say “this has led to us to also suspect foul play.”
Autopsy pending
Hvaldimir’s body was discovered by a father and son fishing in the Denisovska Bay. It was sent to the National Veterinary Institute of Norway for an autopsy, the results are expected within three weeks. Quote One Whale, the whale had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, however, the official reason for death is still unknown.
NOAH’s Siri Martinsen called the way the two ruptures were dated and described as alarming, and seemed to implicate a crime. Both parties have lodged a police complaint seeking that the issue be properly investigated.

Hvaldimir became aged at around 15 – 20 he got quite pat fame in Norway at the year 2019. Named after play on the words whale and the Norwegian Russian Political Leader vladimir putin. People were fascinated because of the wear and tear of the equipment and why the animal was so cattle.
