India won the T20 World Cup 2024, defeating South Africa in the final to end an 11-year drought for an ICC title from the time of the 2013 Champions Trophy.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will reward all members of a 42-person contingent with Rs.125 crores as a gesture of celebration.
This amount significantly increased since previous ICC prizes given during MS Dhoni’s captaincy.
In total, they were rewarded with Rupees Twelve Crores as prize money after winning the 2007 ICC World T20 tournament.
According to reports, BCCI initially announced One crore rupees per player for its winners at the 2011 ODI world cup but later revised it to two million rupees. The support staff was paid fifty lakhs while each selector got twenty-five lakhs.
The team members received one crore rupees each in addition to thirty Lakhs which was given to support staff personnel during the 2013 Champions Trophy.
On contrary, According to reports by the way, what BCCI will give out this year is:
Each of the fifteen players including those who didn’t play a single game will get five crores.
Four reserve players will receive two point five crores each
Head coach Rahul Dravid’s award will be no less than that of main team players – five crores.
Every member of coaching staff shall have one crore.
Additionally, there are backroom staffs such as physios and throw down experts who will receive twenty million each. Each selector gets one crore rupes.
Besides revealing BCCI’s appreciation for their efforts and commitment, this substantial payment sets another benchmark for future accomplishments by them too.
This makes clear how important it is to win and how much value board places on assisting and motivating both players and supporting staffs.
