Rana was fined 100 per cent of his match fee and suspended for one match last Tuesday for violating the IPL code of conduct during KKR’s seven-wicket win over Delhi Capitals.
Earlier, Rana was fined 60% of his match fee for blowing a kiss to Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Mayank Agarwal in the last match.
Rana almost made the same mistake when he dismissed Abhishek Porrell against Delhi. He gestured to Borel that he should return to the pavilion, and seemed ready to blow another kiss before stopping. Additionally, Rana was seen looking attractive after hitting the pads high off Rasikh Salam.
But BCCI’s suspension does not seem to suit Rana, as his chat with Pandit during the charter flight showed. The incident occurred after KKR’s return flight was severely delayed.
After a 98-run win over Lucknow Supergiants, KKR left Lucknow for Kolkata but faced difficulties landing in Kolkata due to adverse weather conditions. Their plane was diverted to Guwahati.
Amid the unexpected diversion, Knight Riders conducted an Instagram live broadcast on the plane and the chat between Rana and Pandit soon went viral. The two had earlier jokingly discussed the possibility of playing against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on May 19.
Ek kaam karte hai, practice kar lete hai, ek session yaha kar lete hai (Let’s do one thing, practice here), “Rana.” Ek session yaha kar lete hai. Then the game is also played here. The last game is ours. (Yes, one training session here and then we can also play the last league match here),” Pandit replied.
“We have a game on the 19th. We will finish the game tomorrow. So the 19th will not come. “We have a game on the 19th. Let’s finish it by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow so we don’t have to come here again),” Rana Said further. “Main dekhta hu. You will learn with BCCI later. (Let me see what I can do. Will have to talk to BCCI),” replied the KKR coach.
“Don’t talk to BCCI (don’t talk to BCCI),” Rana concluded.
