During the Super 8 match against Australia, Rohit Sharma attacked Mitchell Starc in a way that left spectators astounded by his extraordinary batting exploits.
The Indian captain mocked at the Australia’s spearhead for pace with whom he accumulated 29 runs.
Starc over saw Rohit who effortlessly clears the boundary hitting four sixes and one four in it. Additionally, there was a wide and dot ball in between.
In an interview with LiSTNR Sport podcast, Starc referred to an India game at T20 World Cup, “I have had played a lot against him (Rohit). He had a really good tournament, especially the back end. I think he targeted the wind in St. Lucia as well. There was that one end where we conceded a lot more than others. And I was bowling from that very end (laughs). I had 5 bad balls and he hit all for sixes (four 6s and one 4s).
The best wicket we played on for runs scored throughout The World Cup and probably quickest across West Indies. ”So we were on chase for some time but then few hiccups and some good quality bowling from them just set us back”, he added.
This ended when Starc bowled Rohit’s stumps with a yorker length delivery in their game together.
However, even after this point of breakthrough there were still great gains made by ‘Hitman’ Rohit who managed to accumulate an impressive 92 off only 41 balls.
Although India won T20 World Cup thus ending their seventeen year title drought; Australia’s early elimination from tournament has raised concerns about team selection.
