The Home Minister of the Union, J.P. Nadda—BJP’s national president and Health Minister and Amit Shah arrived in Itanagar to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister-designate Pema Khandu which will take place there today.
On June 12th Mr. Khandu was re-elected as leader of BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh, therefore, he is going to be sworn in as Chief Minister for third term running.
He will be taking office on June 13 along with his cabinet. He became Chief Minister for the first time in 2016.
At the same time official ‘X’ handle of Union Home Minister also posted: “Union Home Minister (UHM) Amit Shah received by Chief Minister-designate of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu along with other leaders and karyakartas at Itanagar Airport today. The UHM will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Arunachal Pradesh government tomorrow”.
Also official handle X for BJP AP posted “The josh among karyakartas and wave of excitement filled Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar, as Home Minister Amit Shah and Health & Family Welfare Minister-cum-national president J. P. Nadda arrived for their maiden visit to the State post historic victory.”
In addition to this post added further, “Ministers were given a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon their arrival at the Airport by BJP Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Party Leader Pema Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju… MLAs and party karyakartas.”
This election took place together with the Lok Sabha election where BJP secured 46 out of 60 Assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh. A day before that Pema thanked everyone who elected him unanimously as leader of BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh.
“I’m grateful to our fellow BJP MLAs for putting faith in me. I also put on record my sincere thanks to our MPs, party leaders and workers for working day in and day out thus ensuring resounding win the polls. Now, let’s work together harder to further speed up the pace of all-round growth in Arunachal Pradesh and realise the goal of inclusive Viksit Bharat by 2047,” said Khandu in X post.
He also stated that he accepts the responsibility of leading the BJP into yet another term of development oriented governance as envisioned by PM Modi.
