The next in line is captain Rohit Sharma who is quite laid back and takes things easy, which can be seen in his batting as well and it makes his lazy elegance look stylish too.
Wicket-keepers are known to be hyperactive on the pitch. One of their unwritten duties is to buck up their buddies when their spirits get low.
And that’s why Rishabh Pant is famous for doing. He is a little too chirpy behind the stumps as he tends to get over-excited even when calling for a review or going for a catch.
Thursday was the occasion when India won against Afghanistan by 47 runs during Super 8 T20 World Cup match between them.
Kuldeep Yadav bowled the 11th over of the Afghanistan run chase and Gulbadin Naib mishit the second delivery high up in the air over the covers.
Pant ran from behind the stumps shouting “mine, mine”. Rohit who could have also gone for the catch, remained stationed at his position hardly moving an inch.
To Pant’s credit, he made it look simple but had some distance to cover with his eyes firmly fixed on it
And again, Rohit deserves some accolades. Since Pant was doing great taking that catch, he left him alone without interrupting and seemed just muttered “Yours”.
Even after making this catch, Pant tossed ball to skipper anticipating another one but lost out again!
Their Instagram handle features a video posted by International Cricket Council (ICC) about that incident:
Now, they face Bangladesh in Antigua on Saturday.
