The directing duo, Abbas-Mustan, inform that music directors Nadeem-Shravan disapproved Kajol in “Baazigar”. In a recent interview with the filmmakers, it was disclosed that Kajol had been locked in even before the musician was called to join the film. The musician was willing to sign the film on condition that they replaced Kajol as well. This came about due to a personal issue involving the actress and Nadeem Shravan.
Shah Rukh Khan starred in Baazigar while Kajol and Shilpa Shetty played key roles and Dilip Tahil also appeared in it which was released in 1993. Director Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla, also known as Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla and Mustan Alibhai Burmawalla ), revealed during an interview that they did not want to work on Bazigal if Nadeem-Shravan wanted Kajol out. The director said he refused their terms.
Abbas told NASA Radio, “Nadeem Shravan really knew us back then when we were nobody…” We went there met them and spoke about this movie. Cannot recall why they decided to withdraw from the film though. But Mustang said I remembered the question.
He said: “There were some personal issues between Nadeem Shravan and Kajol. Tanuja lucky. They asked us if we could change the heroine. We simply told them no because it would have been unfair since we had already agreed with her having finalized her contract.” We have sealed the deal with kajol who has signed up Ah! Well! Let’s not leave out Banerji behind either. To which they responded: “Toh hum nahi rahege.”
According to reports, although the twins do not remember why their friendship ended as friends during one of their visits at home, Tanuja did something that apparently annoyed some of the musicians. It cost Nadeem-Shravan a lot.
Anu Malik compensated for the loss of Nadeem Shrawan. Some popular songs he composed after joining his troops include “Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein”, “Kitabain Bahut Si”, “Baazigar O Baazigar” and “Chhupana Bhi Nahi Aata”.
