They finally got back to India after their return journey from Barbados and it was the first time that Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, invited fans of his team who could join them on their victory parade which would be at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Rohit then took to X and disclosed some details about the roadshow in Mumbai.
“India we want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00pm onwards.It’s coming home.” This is what was said by Rohit on X.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah also extended an invite to the fans, urging them to honour the victorious Team India by joining the victory parade.
“Join us for Victory Parade honouring Team India’s World Cup win! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate with us! Save the date!” He wrote on X.
Their departure was delayed for three days due to stormy weather conditions caused by a hurricane in West Indies before they eventually flew home today being Wednesday as scheduled.
By around 6:20 am (IST), Thursday morning, AIC24WC – Air India Champions 24 World Cup flight which had taken off at around 4:50am local time will have landed in New Delhi, the Indian national capital.

“This team has left Barbados through a special Air India flight chartered by BCCI. The same flight is bringing along with it those Indian journalists who were stuck there (Barbados), president of BCCI (Roger Binny) and secretary (Jay Shah), who are looking after all arrangements,” said BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla to PTI.
“Tomorrow, at 6 am the flight will land at Delhi airport. The team is scheduled to meet PM Narendra Modi at his residence by 11 am tomorrow morning. After this, there will be a ceremony in Mumbai for us.”.
Stranded in a hotel for three days after the win, they were finally able to leave through a special flight that had been organized for them.
