After playing 15 years with his native West Bengal Cricket Team, I joined Tripura Cricket Team for two years and now am back to play for the same team. I will be doing my best as a wicket-keeper batsman as we try to win more top domestic tournaments. Therefore, my current focal point is on the conditioning camp and upcoming Ranji Trophy games. Finally, he said that he would take into account his physical status before making any decision whether to participate in T20 or one-day matches.
However, Saha lauded Manoj Tiwary’s batting ability as well as his role as a wicketkeeper-batsman when asked about the possibility of replacing Tiwary who had just retired from International captaincy.
“I will make sure that our team has more junior players,” added Saha when asked if he could get back-up position at Team India as a wicket-keeper batter.
In response to all these questions, Ganguly applauded Saha’s outstanding record of playing 40 Tests for his nation.
Ganguly stated “When Saha is there, he always gives his 200 percent. We are very focused on domestic cricket. We have a very good side this time.”
The year 2021 was the last year when Saha played for India and scored 1353 runs during those tests (inclusive of three centuries and six fifties). He also represented his country in five ODIs .
Saha’s return to Bengal is viewed as an important boost to their fortunes in the coming domestic season while also adding depth to the team through experience.
