Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh is a person who have always had a blunt tongue and has also made inflammatory statements on a number of occasions. He has been targeting former Indian captain MS Dhoni and has even blamed him for the decline in his son Yuvraj Singh’s international career.
This is the reason why he has once again come in the limelight as a result of his remarks regarding Arjun Tendulkar who approached Ehrhard for his cricketing skills.
Yograj, on the other hand, created controversy when he was interviewed and asked how it felt training Arjun Tendulkar and made the following remarks.
The video of his statement went viral, in which he said: “Aapne heera dekha hai koyle ki khan mein? Wo koyla hi hai. [Have you seen a diamond in a coal mine? He is the coal]”.
Arjun’s cricketing capabilities have brought about quite an uproar from the cricketing world and all spheres of life, thanks to Yograj being candid about them. There were also a few who were in praise of him for being able to speak out his mind which was only practical and backed by his experience as a coach.
“Nikalo patthar hi hai, kisi tarashgir ke haath me dalo to chamak ke duniya ko kohinoor ban jata hai (It is coal that is rock when taken out from a mine, but if it is given in proper hands, it goes on to become Kohinoor. It is priceless. Whatever the diamond is meant to accomplish, only if such a person who appreciates the diamond possesses it. Such praise does not come from my own mouth …Yograj Singh is a great crafter. Yuvraj Singh says it, there is magic in my dad’s hand, he made me what I am. Where I used to get insulted, it was ‘Hitler, Dragon Singh, I hate my father.’ I was hated by everybody in my home. My relatives said, I am not made to be a father, Yaogan Singh replied.
“Yes, but he took the road which he has taken. And by the grace of God the Yuvraj Singh came to light,” he said.
Following the recent comments made by Yograj on Dhoni, a clip of his son Yuvraj where the World Cup-winner was saying that his father has ‘mental issues’ has gone viral.”
Yuvraj, India’s 2011 World Cup hero, despite the presence of his father, was rather disheartened to hear several of his father’s statements, implying quite clearly that his father has ‘mental issues’ but does not want to recognize it. This is also what Yuvraj said comment on during a podcast where he was trying to indicate his uneasiness over his father’s constant bickering with the media.
“My father I think has mental issues and he just doesn’t want to accept it,” Yuvraj had said during a podcast.
Yuvraj’s cricket career of 17 years was quite illustrious, most of it being the course of cricket for the country that included two World Cups in which he was among the key players, T20 World Cup 2007, and ODI World Cup 2011.
