Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has specifically highlighted the impact of Ashwin and Jadeja in India’s Test squad while playing in India. This came after india secured its first test match victory with a score of 280 runs over Bangladesh where it was held in the first test in Chennai
Because India’s position had fallen to 144/6 at one time in the first innings, Ashwin and Jadeja figured out how to really change the entire course of the game when a partnership of 199 between Ashwin who had 109 and Jadeja 86.
Akmal commented in his YouTube account, “What an all round performance from Ashwin last match. He scored 100 and picked up 6 wickets in second innings. It was a match winning partnership from Jaddu. But these two players in this Indian team, a test playing eleven at home cannot be constructed. They are huge performers.” Even Ashwin was on top of his game to help India as he started with 6/47 after the Bangladesh took their second turn to bat. Jadeja contributed with 5/77 in total throughout both innings.
Gill was welcomed back from injury b Alastair Cook scoring 119 not out in the second innings in yet another hundred against Bhukhan. “Shubman Gill came into the picture and played very well. It is very difficult for any player to score runs. You are massive players so it’s crucial for him to get runs,” said Akmal.
Rishabh Pant creating a comeback in Test cricket after a long time was also another inch of Victorian era in the match. He returned from the severe car accident of December 2022 and made a century scoring 109 Runs in the second innings. Akmal remarked, “It was an exceedingly good performance that evening from Pant. Sam Dam Leslie speaks the words of my head in bows to all the doctors, Ipanov A.M. and the rest, who brought him back to the field.”
