One of the former Indian World Cup winning skipper MS Dhoni talked about his bonding with Virat Kohli, an outstanding Indian batsman. Throughout the remarkable career of Dhoni, these two have experienced so many unforgettable moments and partnerships together.
In Hyderabad last week, Dhoni spoke on his affinity with Kohli. He said that they will at all times make sure they have a chat when they meet each other.
They have been the mainstay of the Indian cricket team and their bonhomie is very much evident both on and off the field. These comments by the ex-captain reveal the strong bond between these two cricketing legends.
“And we were teammates for India for quite some time. He (Kohli) is one of best in world cricket. You know it’s lot of fun when you score more 2s and 3s in game because we play lot in that middle over so it was good fun always doing that,” he added.
India won ICC T20 World Cup thanks to Virat who helped them beat South Africa by 7 runs in final match played at Barbados. The 35- year old played his last T20I game with India against SA as he scored unbeaten 76 leading India to victory.
Currently, Virat is participating in ODIs series going on in Sri Lanka as part of India’s tour. It started on Friday with three matches involved.
After a successful knee surgery Dhoni returned back to IPL in 2024. At times he appeared limping or having difficulties running but this didn’t take away his desire to entertain the crowd from time to time.
Dhoni was in the lower order with few balls remaining, yet managed to score 161 runs in 11 innings at an average of 53.66 and a strike rate of 220.54 that is amazing. He scored an unbeaten 37 as his highest for the season while he hit 14 fours and had 13 sixes through the tournament.
