New Delhi: Virender Sehawg. Famous for his frankness and outspokenness, Rohit Sharma is known to be the future of MI (Mumbai Indians). The former Indian opener expressed his doubts about the possible continued presence of Rohit in his team.
The cricket legend further said during a conversation with Cricbuzz on Saturday that apart from Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav, there is no other person within the MI dressing room who could ensure that he was not given away during mega auction before next season. Hardik PandyaHe said, “If you cast Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in a film, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a hit. You have to act. There has to be something in the script. You see these big names.” In terms of players…all of them have to play well otherwise, we will still have Bumrah and Suryakumar if they are third and fourth respectively.”
Rohit’s performance this IPL season has been below average as he struck only 330 runs including one century from twelve games played by Mumbai Indians team in IPL 2021 so far. However, there was a video clip doing rounds on social media which shows Rohit telling KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar that he loves this team like his second home.
Although due to fans cheering him at the background it was hard to clearly hear what he said in the video but amidst all those noises one could pick up words such as “Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai …Woh unke upar hai…Jo bhi hai woh mera There is a family brother, there is a temple that I built”. This statement came immediately after someone else told him “Bhai mera kya mera to ye Last hai”.
While we can hardly make out any other part of the conversation, fans rushed to give their interpretation with some suggesting that Rohit was talking about MI’s captain. Others even alleged that the video had been taken down by KKR after publishing it on X.
Nayar and Rohit have been close friends since their Mumbai domestic cricket days. Nayar is also thought to have played a part in helping Rohit return to the Indian team after they were left out following the 2011 ODI World Cup.
