The day India created fastest team century record for first time
In 2023, India delivered a commanding performance against West Indies in their Test match. India posted a substantial total of 438 runs in their first innings, led by Virat Kohli‘s century and an 80-run contribution from Rohit Sharma.

The West Indies team struggled in response, managing to score only 255 runs. Mohammed Siraj was the standout bowler, taking five wickets in the innings.
Commencing their second innings with a lead of 183 runs, India aimed to score rapidly to set a challenging target for West Indies. The team planned to depend on their bowlers to secure 10 wickets, similar to a previous strategy used by Virat Kohli against England. In that match, the Indian team was successful in dismissing England in under 60 overs, marking a significant win in their Test history.
India’s cricket team displayed a strong start in their second innings with their captain leading the charge, scoring a quick 57 runs in 44 balls. India had also set a new record for the fastest team 150 in cricket, achieving this milestone in just 21.1 overs against the West Indies in 2023.
India declared their innings at 181/2, setting a target of 365 runs for the West Indies. On the final day of the Test match, rain interrupted play in the first session. West Indies batted for only 32 overs and scored 76/2. The match ended in a draw.
