The Indian team, which includes Shubman Gill and has been coached by VVS Luxman, has just arrived in Zimbabwe to play five T20 Internationals starting from the 6th of July in Harare.
Among them are emerging stars like Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma. After their successful outing at the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, they have earned themselves maiden call-ups into the Indian side.
Laxman and his boys can be seen leaving Harare airport through a video clip shared on Zimbabwe Cricket’s handle ‘X’.
As per reports, Gill who was a reserve player for India’s T20 World Cup squad will join the team directly from United States of America where he took a vacation.
Zimbabwe Cricket also posted pictures of players standing with their bags outside the airport. Some of those photographed were Abhishek, Parag, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Avesh Khan, Tushar Deshpande and VVS Laxman who is also head of National Cricket Academy.
However, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh as well as Khaleel Ahmed will only reach Delhi from Barbados on Thursday morning after being stranded in Barbados due to hurricane ‘Beryl’.
Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana replaced Dube, Jaiswal, Samson for the first two T20I of the series.
