Shaheen Shah Afridi, a Pakistani right-arm fast bowler, is in Leeds as he gets ready to play the first match of their four-match T20I series against England. In a video clip making rounds on social media, fans in Leeds are seen taking selfies with the star bowler.
He is wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt that is white and being surrounded by his fans who want to get close and take a selfie.
This took place about one week later after they were routed 7 wickets by Pakistan during their second game against Ireland at Dublin for which Afghanistan cricket team’s fan apparently misbehaved with the Afghan paceman
In fact, Pakistan lost the first match of their T20I series only to win it eventually with 2-1 victories over England.
Meanwhile, Azam’s men face a different test as they open against defending champions at the ICC Twenty20 championship. Prior to Wednesday’s opener, Pakistan has opted to release their right-arm fast-bowler Hasan Ali from the squad.
“This means that the management has given Hassan permission to go ahead with his county engagements He was initially selected as an injury replacement player for Haris Rauf,” said Zahir Khan, manager of cricket operations at PCB.
As such, with Rauf now fit for selection again, Hasan will be returning to Warwickshire County where he had left off his duties at last month.
The squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup can be filled up when all participating teams declare theirs before June 1st. Notably there is only one country that hasn’t yet announced its lineup; this is Pakistan. The tournament features Group A consisting of India (winner in 2007), USA (joint host), Canada, Ireland and Pakistan.
