Wasim Jaffer, a former Indian batsman and Michael Vaughan, a past captain of the English cricket team, have acquired renown for their humorous online exchanges that mostly center around gossips.
In this case, it was Vaughan who began teasing Jaffer about India’s defeat to Sri Lanka in an ODI series.
“Hi Wasim ..What was the recent ODI series result in Sri Lanka? I have been away and missed it ..Hope all is well,” responded Vaughan after finding that Jaffer had posted something concerning Q&A session on X.
However, things quickly changed, as Jaffer turned the tables on himself by teasing Vaughan in a manner both could understand.
“Michael I’ll make it an ashes analogy. Eng won as many tests in Aus in last 12 years as Ind won in that series #SLvIND,” replied Wasim.
India started their visit with an emphatic 3-0 triumph over Sri Lanka during the T20I competition. Despite this, under new skipper Charith Asalanka and coach Sanath Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka presented a formidable opposition during the ODI series.
The first match of the ODI series ended in a thrilling tie thereby setting up an exciting contest. The second match saw India lose by 32 runs while chasing a target of 240.
