Wasim Akram, former Pakistani pacer, and his wife Shaniera Akram celebrated their 11th anniversary on August 19, 2024.
The couple is famous for their active presence on social media and they marked the day with a public statement of love and appreciation that was also humorous.
Shaniera began the online celebration by playfully poking fun at her husband. She posted a funny photo of Wasim Akram on X (formerly Twitter) along with a caption that mixed light-hearted teasing with real affection.
She made fun about how he looked but expressed gratefulness for him in her life calling him her “world”.
He responded with his own heartfelt message.
“Happy Anniversary my baby @wasimakramlive– Thank you for everything you are and everything you give to my life, you are my world and 11 years on you look as good as the day I met you, you haven’t changed a bit!!!!”she wrote in a tweet.
Shaniera later softened the initial trolling by sharing another more recent photo of Wasim Akram where she reiterated her love for him while placing more emphasis on his lasting smile.
“Happy anniversary to the love of my life @iamshaniera…with you in my life I became better person…you are that gift that keeps on giving not just to me but to everyone around you…your positive energy is so infectious it lifts everyone around you and shines wherever you go…I thank God almighty to have given me such an amazing wife, partner and best friend,” said Akram.
Wasim Akram is among cricket’s all-time best bowlers having retired from professional cricket back in 2003. He holds several records including being the first player ever to reach 500 wickets during One Day Internationals.
