The Wankhede Stadium is geared up for a major facelift with the installation of LED floodlights. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has initiated the installation of LED floodlights at the venue following the refurbishment of the President’s Box, hospitality boxes and media box for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
On Friday, it was announced on MCA’s website that they had put out a tender for “LED Floodlighting system with DMX controls at Wankhede Stadium”.
This is already happening in some top cricket stadiums in India like Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium as well as Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, which have already been fitted with LED floodlights.
Tenders were announced by them last year for this project which, however, they decided to postpone before World Cup due to lack of time.
