The T20 World Cup final 2024 between India and South Africa is eagerly awaited by the entire nation, scheduled to be held on Saturday.

South Africa’s semi-finalists of the ICC tournaments in recent years – the team will also be hoping to put a disappointing World Cup campaign behind them. The whole nation stands with its sportsmen, wishing them good luck and praying for their success.

Rajkumar Sharma –Virat Kohli’s childhood coach and Dronacharya Award recipient- has shared his insights on Indian performance ahead of this crucial encounter.

In an interview published by IANS, when asked about India reaching finals of T20 World Cup; Rajkumar Sharma was quoted as saying “It is a very happy occasion, and I sincerely hope it ends the drought of ICC trophies. We will hopefully end the drought this time around and become world champions.”

Referring to what he feels would be the hardest aspect of playing against South Africa, Sharma stated during an interaction that “…Because considering our team’s performance so far in all their matches, there is no doubt that they will perform well in this match…That is because throughout this entire competition they have not lost even one game.” On chances of India winning the cup he said “I am sure that India will win this final because we have performed well and not lost any match till now. With good batting form shown by everyone in our side; we can even take up next year’s trophy.”

Commenting on Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and his performance, Sharma praised him stating: “He did a fantastic job as captain. He led from the front while others were encouraged to play freely as individuals within a team structure. We delegate out work responsibilities and fortunately everyone seems to complete theirs accordingly.” Let us all pray for victory today

But it hasn’t been smooth sailing thus far: challenges alongside successes have dotted their path before now but they have always staged a comeback. They are still on track due to their single-mindedness and motivation from millions of supporters who want them to lift the trophy.

India have a tough game ahead against South Africa, but India has confidence and form, too. That is what makes this team special. The players have gelled together really well; that’s been our strength in all the games we’ve played so far, we just need to keep going until the end.”
