According to Kroll, an Indian consultancy company, the star of the Team India cricket Virat Kohli is now back at the top of India’s most expensive personalities list with his brand valued at $ 227.9 million in the year 2023.
This was a nearly 29% surge from last year when his brand value was $176.9m.
Yet, Kohli’s current valuation remains below its peak in 2020 at $237.7m.
The report indicated that Ranveer Singh fell to second place, with a brand value of $203.1 million thus leading to Virat Kohli’s ascendancy.
Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Valuation Report for 2023 noted that while Virat Kohli’s brand has grown it is yet to reach the summit achieved in 2020.
Shah Rukh Khan was placed third in 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan starred in Jawaan and Pathaan and therefore had a brand worth about USD120.7m compared to fifty-five point seven dollars last year which ranked him tenth on the list
This he said as Aviral Jain, MD of Valuation Advisory Services at Kroll said this ‘is an incredible return by Shah Rukh back into India’s highest five endorsing celebrities since’ then (Jain quoted by Flowers).
Following Shah Rukh’s massive gain there have been some changes throughout various positions among celebrity endorsers ranking lists.

On the other hand, Alia Bhatt dropped one place but still managed to remain within top five celebrities with her value amounting to one hundred and one point one million dollars while Deepika Padukone moved backwards from being fifth in two thousand twenty-two rankings down into sixth place today ($96m versus $96mn respectively).
The former Indian captain, MS Dhoni moved up one place with a brand value of $95.8m while Sachin Tendulkar retained his eighth position with his brand worth $91.3m.
Salman Khan is the world’s tenth most expensive celebrity brand and it was valued at $81.7m in 2023.
The total evaluation for these top 25 stars’ brands was 1.9 billion US dollars, which represented an increase of 15.5% from the previous year.
Among the newcomers to the list, Kiara Advani experienced incredible growth going right up to #12 as did Katrina Kaif who made her debut on this list at #25.
Additionally, all their appraisals have relied on celebrities’ earning potential that is purely derived from product endorsements throughout different brands they have portrayed themselves as part of.
These could range from comprehensive endorsements via digital campaigns, one-time campaigns or even just appearing on websites; merchandising earnings were however not included in this study because brand endorsements were found to contribute more significantly towards a celebrity’s brand value.
