Israel’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said that four hostages had been rescued by Israeli forces on Saturday from the custody of Hamas in Gaza. The abductees, who were Noa Argam (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27) and Shlomi Ziv (40) were kidnapped by Hamas at the Nova music festival on October 7.
In one of its posts on X, the IDF released a video showing part of the operation where three of them were brought to freedom.
‘A moment on which they could not have wished for more than this: they just boarded “Yasur” helicopter after their rescue from Hamas captivity 245 days,’ IDF reported on X.
Another post on X reads, “EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE from the helicopter that brought Noa back home from Hamas captivity.”
Another video put up by X showed Yamam unit members accompanying the hostages boarding a helicopter. It said: ‘This is the moment the elite Yamam unit rescued former hostages Shlomi Ziv, Almog Meir Jan and Andrey Kozlov from captivity in Gaza. Real life superheroes.’
The latest footage demonstrated how Israeli military personnel and police entered an apartment in which three people had been held hostage by Hamas militants in Gaza.
The earlier joint statement by Israel Defence Forces, Israel security agency and Israel police referred to such rescue as a “complex special operation” in central Gaza Strip.
According to it; “four Israeli hostages including- Noa Argam (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27) and Shlomi Ziv (40)” were “kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization from the ‘Nova’ music festival on October 7th,” read part of a statement issued today, Saturday morning through IDF Spokesperson’s Unit.
‘From two different locations within Nuseirat’ those who had been taken hostage were ‘rescued by IDF, ISA and ‘Yamam’ forces,’ noted it.
The Health Ministry in Gaza, however, reported that since October 7 no less than 36,801 Palestinians have been killed and at least 83,680 injured as a result of Israeli’s military offensive on Gaza.
