Pooja Entertainment’s Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani have moved the court against filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar for misappropriating money during production of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Key players in the Indian Filmmakers World, Bhagnani and Bhagnani courteous filed the complaint at Bandra Police Station on September 3, 2022. Complainants allege that Zafar stole subsidy money secured from Abu Dhabi for the movie shoot.
Allegations of Fund Misappropriation
The minnows complaint is based on the allegation that, Ali Abbas Zafar also misappropriated the subsidies granted by the Abu Dhabi authorities for the making of the film. The Bhagnanis further say that these funds, which were meant for the production of the particular film, got used by Zafar for his personal interests outside the production. This particular allegation has raised alarms in the industry especially because, Pooja Entertainment is one of the leading Bollywood film studios producing high budgeted films with a lot of genres and diverse stories.
Non-Payment Reports Circulating
It is worth noting that reports refering producers to non-payment have been known since the regret had been made. As per such reports, their propagation commenced within days of the official documentation filed at the Bandra Police Station. Although no action is said to have been taken in the immediate time frame, there are speculations that Zafar may be called in order to make a statement regarding the issue in the next few days as the police further delve into the case.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was both panned by the viewers as well as by the critics. After leaving YRF, there have been no successful endeavors made be Ali Abbas Zafar. There has been no successful film done after YRF and going independent in between.
