USA Cricket (USAC) directors, Kuljit Singh, Arjun Gona, and Patricia Whittaker have sent an email full of accusations to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about Chairman Venu Pisike’s unethical conducts. According to cricket website Cricbuzz.
The allegations touch on wrongful termination of the CEO, hostile work environment, systemic corruptions for election purposes among others.
Singh, Gona and Whittaker in their email that followed after the ICC board meeting in Colombo outline different violations by Pisike and his supporters. Some of these include charges of unethical behavior like firing CEO Dr Noor Murad without authorization as well as promoting “toxic and pathetic” working atmosphere. They claim that Pisike made unconstitutional appointments, rigged elections and lacked financial transparency.
There are several important complaints stated in the email which are:
- Unethical Termination: Dismissal of CEO Dr Noor Murad.
- Hostile Environment: Allegations of creating a toxic work environment.
- Unconstitutional Appointments: Bypassing proper procedures for hiring key positions.
- Systemic Corruption: Claims of electoral manipulation and financial non-transparency.
- Intimidation Tactics: Efforts to silence dissenting members and remove minority members.
According to Cricbuzz reports on July 12, the main reason for their temporary suspension from USAC was due to Singh’s and Gona’s dissenting emails to ICC being cited as the main cause.
Also alleged in the communication is that during constitutional amendment process voters were not given voice and elections were tainted through biased selection of a membership management company. In addition it accuses misappropriation of legal monies claiming that attempts to solve problems with American Cricket Enterprises (ACE), who own Major League Cricket were frustrated.
Further claims against Srini Salver who is male player director acting as chairperson cricket committee include conflict of interest corruption as well as manipulating player selections for personal gain among other things.
Efforts to get resignations from key staff like Julie Abbott, Jamie Lloyd, Anand Patel and Burt Cockley were other instances of alleged misconduct detailed in the email. These exits were blamed on certain board members creating a “toxic work environment”.
According to Cricbuzz report, there has been no response from USAC concerning these allegations.
The situation is still grave as ICC continues to monitor the events after it issued suspension warning and put sanctions on USAC.
