Manchester Airport in Manchester, England was expected to be back in operation for Sunday evening flights after significant power disruption that occurred during the day at Terminals 1 and 2.
It is not known what caused the power failure but Manchester Airport released a statement saying they were working with airlines to rebook flights over the next few days adding that Monday’s flights will not be affected.
Earlier through its social media platform X, the airport told passengers departing from Terminal 3 to head to the airport as usual unless their airline said otherwise. Nevertheless, there will be delays which could affect travelers.
According to Sky News, the first casualty of this disruption was an aviation firm based at Manchester Airport. The report also added that while electric supply has been restored, operations will remain affected throughout the day.
