On Tuesday, a woman was killed and three others were injured in Belgorod, a region on the Russian-Ukrainian border that was attacked by a Ukrainian drone, according to a local governor.
Throughout the two-year-old conflict, this region has been frequently targeted because it is located right at Ukraine’s northern part Kharkiv area across the border where there is now an ongoing massive ground assault conducted by Russian forces.
According to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his post published on Telegram, “There was explosion of kamikaze drone on moving car which had driver and three passengers”.
“Died from injuries caused by explosion on spot,” he said.
The other three people who were in car have got wounds.
And it happened near Oktyabrsky village checkpoint located 12km (7 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
Two weeks ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his troops initiated a new offensive into Kharkiv region as he wanted to form a buffer zone for preventing any attacks by Ukrainians upon frontier Russian villages.
After just 18 months of effort, Moscow claimed it had taken over twelve villages while making its greatest territorial gains in the past year and half during this latest offensive.
