JD Vance, Donald Trump’s running mate, as well as Tim Walz, Kamala Harris’s vice presidential pick are invited to one final debate due October 1 and that will be the final debate in the 2024 politics calendar.
The debate will start at 9 pm ET and is being hosted by CBS News, which released the rules on Friday. The two main moderators will be Norah O’Donnell anchor of CBS Evening News and Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan.
Below are the rules for the vice presidential debate:
Debate structure
Immediately after the introductory remarks and bios by the moderators, the debate structure will remain the same by electing the main speakers starts with Tim walz nominated from the current ruling party. Next, after the bracket you call, you will ask questions, speaking the amount of precise time two two each. This will be one minute rebuttals and then one more time when arguments may hold.
As Caesar said about presidential debates, the ceitera promises that, unlike what happens in mundane life where the debate microphone can only be hearing the candidates from time to time, will remain up continuously for the duration of the debate.
Similarly in the President, there will be no audience in the case of the Vance-Walz contest also to prevent interference. This OB stands in variance with the decision with respect to malalties, preservative of obstruction and not the outside glare of the usual audience in every seminar.
In contrast to the Presidential debate, the Vice Presidential debate will not consist of the opening statements, but only one of the closing. The order of this statement was determined by a virtual toss. Vance won the toss and chose to make his enduring remarks last.
Both candidates will stand at similar podiums. This will be the first time the two candidates will use this format after the last one in 2008. Over the course of the 90 minute debate Hayne will take the left position while Vance will be taking the opposite side (right) at the beginning.
Commercial break guidelines
The previous debates took place in two commercial breaks, these will also be held in this manner. During the breaks of the commercial candidates will not be allowed to talk to the members of their campaign or be given make up to enhance concentration.
Both Walz and Vance have been practising with mock debates to prepare for the upcoming showdown.
As a source close to Vance’s preparations revealed, most of his time was spent in Cincinnati under the careful eye of his wife Usha and Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller.
Tim Walz has been attending a ‘multiday debate camp’ in the woods of Michigan where enemy combatants’ demonstration actor Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg filled in for Vance.
