Pakistan’s (CDA) Capital Development Authority reportedly bulldozed a section of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) office on Thursday, alleging violation of building regulations. Imran response, the party claimed that the move is an “armed occupation and vandalism” by the government of “the thief from mandate.”
There are no illegal structures in PTI’s premises; otherwise, as Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said, CDA should have sent prior notice before they could carry out their operation.
“Blind use of force,” was how PTI Islamabad criticized the incident.
“The biggest political party has been invaded by the mandate thief government in the dark night. We once again recommit ourselves to be firm against intimidation, lawlessness and blind use of force and not to surrender under any circumstances from true freedom agendas”, it posted on X.
“They see their end right before their eyes. The fear deep inside them has come to surface through this illegal invasion at central secretariat of tehreek-e-insaf”, it added.
On Thursday, CDA clarified that there had been an operation to demolish illegal buildings
The government agency stated that it had issued notices to PTI but ignored them. The operation happened as Imran Khan led party encouraged its members to report immediately at its secretariat where they were still present during dismantling. According to PTI, the government started pulling down their offices through a “lawless and unfair way.”
