Ayan Desai of the Seattle Orcas dismissed Devon Conway, the first batsman, with his first delivery earlier in the game. Then Cameron Gannon got rid of another batsman in his initial over. However, despite these early blows Faf du Plessis was well centred on hitting and taking runs while batting from one end for TSK until he fell in 19th over right before power play ended.
Texas Super Kings were looking steady at the middle even though wickets kept falling as Milind Kumar was dismissed after setting off well but not continuing. TSK then came good again towards the end thanks to Calvin Savage who slammed 45 unbeaten runs off just 27 deliveries. A supportive knock from Cameron Stevenson helped TSK reach a competitive 177 total runs. Keemo Paul and Ayan Desai were bright spots for Seattle Orcas scalping two wickets each.
