Sri Lanka suffered a major blow as Dilshan Madushanka and Matheesha Pathirana, two of their fast bowlers were ruled out by injuries ahead of the three-match ODI series against India.
The RPSC Stadium in Colombo will host the first one-day match on Friday.
“Madushanka pulled his left leg hamstring muscle to Grade 2 during a fielding session” Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement on Thursday as PTI reports it.
“Pathirana has got slight sprain in his right shoulder when he dived to take a catch during Third T20 match against India” reads the statement.
On Tuesday at Pallekele, Pathirana did not bowl in the third Twenty20 International
To replace them, hosts have called for Eshan Malinga and Mohammed Shiraz due to their injury at that time.
Kusal Janith, Jeffrey Vandersay and Pramod Madushan have been added to the team as standbys.
