The heavy rainfall that swept across Mumbai on Wednesday, 25th September subsequently paralysed activities within the town including film shootings. Knowing that Sikandar Salman Khan’s upcoming action film by AR Murugadoss was to go on at the time films shoots were grounded and most production facilities were shut because of the torrential rains.
Mid-day further reported that the film unit has been engaged on an action sequence at S R P F Ground Goregaon for the last two weeks since the end of August. It also was badly timed because of the torrential downpour. Lighting should be able to handle these kinds of scenes and if there’s short circuit then there is only the possibility of disaster even directing them to stop filming temporarily for the safety.
Salman Khan showed up on the set at 5 pm, as was ready to shoot through the night. But a source from those working on it revealed that, ‘The shoot was to commence at seven in the evening and the crew was on set by three in the afternoon. But given the heavy rains, the direction team overruled this plan to shoot that day. Tthe IMD had already declared a red alert and there was no way therefore that this young crew would have done a night recess without lights out. It was not even practical ‘
But with this, the production team stays positive of getting back to filming by Friday, provided the weather is permitting. The source remarked, ‘The two day delay is not likely to be a great hindrance into the timeline for the completion of the project.’ Sikandar, starring Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj and other actors, is an action drama film and is expected to come out in Eid 2025.
