Rising Indian Star Abhishek Sharma’s first International century against Zimbabwe was commended by former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Monday.

On Sunday, in Harare, India had a 100-run victory over Zimbabwe as Riding on Abhishek’s 46 ball ton. The five-match series is currently tied at 1-1.

Abhishek did not have the ideal international debut when he got out for naught in the first match of the series. However, the young left-hander made an impressive comeback during game two. He showed his incredible ability and batting skills to strike a scintillating hundred runs.

His knock left everyone awestruck as it treated opposition bowlers with disdain. It was a testament to Abhishek’s abilities in performing at the highest level. And future prospects that may see him emerge as one of India’s brightest stars.

“Rome wasn’t built in day! Congrats @IamAbhiSharma4 on ur journey to your 1st international 💯! Many more to come,” read Yuvraj’s post on X.

Also featured after second T20I by BCCI was a video of Abhishek talking with Yuvraj through a Video call. “Congratulations kid” Yuvraj who plays mentorship role to him told him while expressing his pride about what he had achieved. This century signifies the beginning of a bright future for this talented southpaw according to his ex-teammate who has seen it all in cricket field.

The experienced campaigner having faith in his protégé’s ability underpins this landmark and offers glowing projection for the emerging star.
