Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, has stepped up the pursuit of fitness ahead of the upcoming two Test match series against Bangladesh at home. Sharma, rest currently in the ongoing Duleep Trophy because of the BCCI, was noticed doing gym workouts at the newly decorated M, Mumbai cricket Association dome work.
This account ‘X’ of the ‘MCA’ has today posted pictures of the vigorous 37 year old Sharma in action as the first to take the newly revamped facility.
“We are so happy to post a photo of the first individual to utilize their new athletic workspace for exercise- our captain Rohit Sharma! It heralds a new era as fitness will be spearheaded by him,” said MCA about the pictures.
This training comes at a time when the relevant Sharma is preparing for an important Test season whose adventure starts with India’s red ball test that is to be very competitive.
Having proved his worth and touch of class and experience, the veteran opener was headed in-between one-day internationals in august, which were hosted by India against Sri Lanka. The visitors’ best on a gordon cross was sharma with 58, 64 and 35 in the three match ODI form sries.
As much as Sharma played well and even dominated at several points, the series ended two to zero with Sri Lanka winning their first ODI over India in 27 years. The final match saw Sri Lanka winning the last two matches to clinch the series after the first match finished in a nail-biting draw.
Considering that the Bangladesh series is around the corner, Sharma’s concentration in regaining his fitness points to the fact that he is ready to take charge in what is surely going to be a crucial phase for Indian cricket.
