On Sunday, India B led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, triumphed over India A with a comfortable margin of 76 runs. Not only did Musheer Khan’s team win the match, but he also earned the Player of the match award by scoring 181 runs from 373 balls hitting 16 fours and five sixes as well. Easwaran’s side was in control throughout the match.
Nevertheless, one moment in the match has made its way to twitter in viral form.
A clip going round recently shows Easwaran disputing Rishabh Pant’s call on an lbw appeal of himself.
This happened in the 18th over when Mukesh Kumar’s delivery hit Shivam Dube on the pads.
After the bowler made a loud appeal, the umpire did not entertain it causing discussion between the two players, the captain, and Pant who was standing behind the wickets.
Pant is the captain of Delhi Capitals and while he played the same situation, he was not confident that the umpire will change his mind and also said there’s no point asking for a review.
Easwaran however decided that he will not listen to Pant and put in the review. In the end, Pant was right in saying that if they reviewed they would lose and that is what happened.
As an aside, the third test against Bangladesh scheduled to begin on 19th September at h the MA Chidambaram stadium Chennai has included Pant on his squad for the first test on Sunday.
