The first international tour of Gautam Gambhir marked his entry into the Indian international cricket in which India managed to win the T20I series but lost the ODI series to Lankans. Thereafter the Indian side is gearing up for a series of test matches against Bangladesh which starts on September 19 after a long break. Rishabh Pant, a key wicketkeeper, and batsman in India’s cricket team took the opportunity to air his views on the changes that have taken place since Gautam Gambhir took over as the captain. Both have played for Delhi at the national level in the age group divisions.
There is also a reason for this suggestion. In a conversation with Rishabh Pant, who is a member of the Axis basketball team, the suggestion was made regarding the biggest change in Indian cricket after Gautam Gambhir. “There was a balance in the personality and the coaching of rahul bhai which is good and bad at – as you said – all. Individuals decide whether the glass is half full or half empty,” Pant said.
“As much as the gauti bhai is aggressive, all is what can be achieved. This is where the line should be drawn and give room for advancement,” Pant further said. Panic also mentioned how important it is not to take Bangladesh lightly especially after they recently won a Test series 2-0 against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
“Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are such countries who can beat any team if the conditions are in their favor. As an Indian team we don’t change or lower our levels of performance regarding the amount of and nature of the opposition,” Rishabh Pant said.
The first Test of the series between India and Bangladesh will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai and the second at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur from the 27th of September onwards.
