Jio Studios and B62 Studios announced on Saturday, July 27, that Aditya Dhar’s next film will star Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal were confirmed. The makers released a black-and-white picture of these five actors with Aditya Dhar (his) that sparked discussions around the photo. In fact, last week it started rolling on July 25 as well.
According to reports in the press release no information regarding the story was provided but it is believed to be a period action thriller set against the backdrop of geopolitical scenario between India and Pakistan. Thus arose rumors that young Ranveer Singh could play Ajit Doval who is currently National Security Advisor to India.
R Madhavan, not Ranveer Singh to portray Ajit Doval in Aditya Dhar’s next has been revealed.
Parami News has learnt from undisclosed sources close to production that although the film does touch upon Ajit Doval’s life; it is not Ranveer who’d essay this character. “Rather than him, it is R Madhavan who plays this coveted part,” said an insider from Parami News adding that he would have a very different cool look in this film which was something he was looking forward to for years now. “He has also put his heart into this role just like always. They believe they’ve produced something big.”
However, nothing more was shared by the source about whether the character would be called Ajit Doval or based on him. Besides, there are no details available about any character played by Ranveer Singh.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t even first time when Aditya Dhar showed us what Ajit Doval really looks like in one of his movies Uri: The Surgical Strike movie had Paresh Rawal playing Govind Bhardwaj based upon Ajit Doval.
The makers’ press release also clarifies that the film is not Dhurandhar contrary to what some people believe. The film is currently untitled. It’s produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios in association with Lokesh Dhar and Aditya Dhar under their banner B62 Studios.
