RCB vs GT IPL 2024 Live Scores: Mathematically, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans can still make it to the IPL playoffs, but they will need to fight off their inner gremlins on Saturday to force the Sexual victory to keep the dream flickering.
Royal Challengers are at the bottom of the table with six points from 10 games, while Titans are eighth with eight points from 10 games.
However, poor performances by Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals (10 points each) have left these two teams hopeful of finishing in the middle of the table and making it to the knockout rounds from there.
But both RCB and GT know that as the IPL group stages come to an end, keeping their own order is a better option than relying on other teams to stay afloat.
In this case, the team led by Faf du Plessis will be more confident than their opponents after winning their last two games.
They also found new heroes in both games – Will Jacks scored the match-winner against GT and Cameron Green finally scored with a crucial goal against Hyderabad The runs and wickets fulfilled his tag of an all-rounder.
RCB also hopes they can have another performance at home.
At the top, Virat Kohli continues to produce runs as he recently became the first batsman to cross the 500-run mark in this edition of IPL and RCB will surely love his willow Score more points.
However, the Royal Challengers will ask for more consistency from their bowlers. Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal, Karn Sharma and Swapnil Singh who were selected in India’s T20 World Cup squad Everyone won the match against SRH.
But against GT in Ahmedabad, they returned to their profligate ways, knocking 200 points off their total.
They will have to clean up their act at the unforgiving M Chinnaswamy Stadium because despite their inconsistent performances, GT still have the tools to punish them.
But to the Titans’ dismay, the tools were often glitchy, a fitting reflection of their back-to-back losses to Delhi Capitals and RCB.
Shubman Gill and Bhardwaj Sai Sudharsan run an exclusive running store in Gujarat and have sold over 700 runs.
Apart from this, the likes of Wriddhiman Saha, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Vijay Shankar and Shahrukh Khan have not reached 200 points this season, which makes GT’s middle and lower ranks look vulnerable.
Their bowling unit has also been mediocre, and no one exemplifies this better than Rashid Khan.
The star spinner took just 8 wickets in 10 games while scoring 8 runs, which is much better than his overall economy rate of 6.7 in the IPL since 2017.
In IPL 2023, Rashid conceded 8.24 runs per match, but the Afghan took 27 wickets in 17 matches. This year, the wicket-post remains empty.
The Pace bowlers had a similar storyline. In the absence of Mohammad Shami, who is recovering from surgery, Titans’ most experienced duo of Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma have put in a lot of work.
Mohit took 10 wickets in as many games, GT’s highest so far this season, but missed nearly 11 runs, while Yadav’s seven wickets came at an economy rate of 10.5 .
Sandeep Warrier, Noor Ahmad, R Sai Kishore and Azmatullah Omarzai ) and other substitute selections did not bring glory to themselves. They lost too many runs, but the returns were minimal.
