In a video shared by Lone, Abdullah can be heard saying: “Lone openly said in his speech in Kupwara, ‘I am the BJP, I am the BJP, what is the problem with this?’. We started with That’s been true since day one. Ron asked Abdullah to provide the clip, location, date and time he made this statement.
At the press conference, Ron claimed that because of Abdullah’s lack of response, he was “officially crowned the liar.” He also mentioned that they are exploring the Election Commission of India rules to see if they can write to them on the issue as Abdullah and his father are strictly protected individuals and their actions have left Lang and his Staff feel unsafe.
Long pointed out that most political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have allied themselves with the BJP at some point. He also claimed that the BJP “rents” many Muslim leaders across India who make statements that benefit the party, and he believes the father-son duo of Farooq and Omar are also “renting” them.
Furthermore, Lone accused Abdullah of labeling the entire anti-National Conference vote as a BJP vote, which he estimated at around 75%-80%. He warned that the BJP might use Abdullah’s statement to claim moral acceptance of the abrogation of Article 370.
