Rajkumar Rao has come a long way since his debut Love Sex and Cheating” The film was released in 2010.The actor, famous for his long list of films such as “Omerta,” “Shahid”, will next be seen in Srikanth Bora. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 10.
During the podcast with Ranveer Allabadia, he told stories about the time he had to go to FTII.”The hardest times involved times when I did not have money and was unemployed. I remember once when I was running I just had 18 rupees left in my account and in Mumbai that’s a city where one lives frugally at times with Parle Ji Bhujia Sev and Frooti lunch for Rs.4.”
On the other hand, his colleagues were very supportive. “Now, I am only left with Rs.18 and thinking what should I do? We do have an FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) board in Mumbai where many of our seniors as well as juniors live here. Therefore call anyone you wish to; ask them what they ate at night or if you can join them.
However, Rajkumar didn’t decide he would study acting after coming to Mumbai.His journey began much before this during his time in Delhi.He even stated that he used to travel 140 kilometers every day to reach his acting school.Rao clarified: “I decided on becoming an actor after school ended so I joined Sri Ram Center which is an acting school located in Delhi.I was eighteen years old then.Thus, they said me that when I get through college then graduate”.On my way there were songs like Papa Kahte Hain playing on Walkman which sound cinematic now but were fun back then.”
