A former coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid is set to grace the inaugural India House at the Paris Olympics. The event will include a “Cricket at the Olympics: Dawn of a New Era” panel discussion in celebration of the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
It will be held on evening of July 28th in India House located at Parc de Lavillette.The first time ever country specific space for Olympic Games; India house has been created through a collaborative effort between Reliance Foundation and Indian Olympic Association.
Also, joining Rahul Dravid on the panel will be Geoff Allardice, CEO International Cricket Council ICC and Harsh Jain – CEO & Co-founder Dream Sports
Moreover, he is widely recognized as one of cricket’s most respected and eminent figures in his role as coach for India where he just recently led them to win T20 world cup.
As per a release by Dream Sports, Geoff Allardice said, “We are continuing to concentrate on developing cricket around the world. This is important towards increasing fans of this sport worldwide; providing opportunities for players to compete at the highest level and now taking it to Olympic stakeholders.”
According to Harsh Jain, “Finally we have got our next Olympics with second largest spectator sports sport globally being included. By so doing this will greatly increase viewership for these games worldwide thereby prompting other nations come up with their own cricketing programs as they seek to promote diversity and expansion of this game.”
The upcoming moderated panel discussion aims at featuring some distinguished panellists who would be sharing their insights about various aspects surrounding LA 2028 Olympic program that includes cricket. Panellists shall delve into potential growth areas for crickets well as emerging markets.
