Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting maestro Virat Kohli were spotted in a jovial chat in a special interview of BCCI that release on Wednesday September 18.
This interview occurred before the commencement of the Test series in Bangladesh.
Both Gambhir and Kohli had previously been inseparable in that they have both played a very aggressive style of cricket towards each other and even clashed heads on certain occasions, say in the IPL.
But ever since Gambhir became the coach of the Indian side, the two put their egos aside for the good of the team.
On Wednesday BCCI released a promo of an interview conducted between Gambhir and Virat.
Here’s how the conversation unfolded between the two legends:
Virat Kohli: When you are batting, and you get into a little bit of verbals with the opposition, did you ever feel that this is dangerous because you may well get out of the zone and get out, or this brought you more in the zone?
Gautam Gambhir: I think you are much more involved in such instances than I am (laugh). I guess this question better be answer by you.
Virat Kohli (laughing): Main to ye dhund raha hun ki koi meri baat se agree kar jaye. Ye nahi bol raha ki galat hai. Koi to bole haan, yahi hota hai (I am only looking for someone who agrees with what I have to say. Not saying that it is wrong. At least someone should say, yes this is what happens).
Virat Kohli: So, here we are. We have come a long way and putting an end to all the masala.
Gautam Gambhir: (Laugh) That’s a good start to the conversation and all the spice.
Kohli and Gambhir were part of Team India’s ODI World Cup victory in 2011.
