New Delhi: delhi police Added on Saturday criminal conspiracy charges cases related to the alleged doctored video Speech by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Police sources said the investigation found evidence of a wider conspiracy and hence Section 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) of IPC was added.
Arun Reddy was arrested in connection with the case on Friday and has been remanded in police custody for three days.
Reddy serves as the national coordinator of the online media and digital platforms group at the party headquarters in the Congress. He is accused of being involved in uploading the video and distributing it to others.
Police said they are conducting further investigations and Reddy’s phone has been sent for forensic analysis.
The arrest comes a week after Delhi police registered an FIR and began an investigation into alleged “deep fake” videos that were widely shared on social media.
