The woman was allegedly kidnapped from her home on April 29 by Revanna’s relative Satish Babanna.
JD(S) MLA HD Revanna was arrested on Saturday in connection with the Karnataka sex scandal case by the Special Investigating Committee (SIT), which is probing allegations of sexual assault against Revanna and her son Prajwal.
The move came soon after a Bengaluru court rejected HD Revanna’s anticipatory bail plea in the Mysuru kidnapping case.
The SIT first detained Revanna from the residence of his father and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and then reached the CID office where the arrest was announced.
Shortly after his arrest, Revanna was taken to Bowling Hospital for a medical examination.
Earlier, the kidnapped victim was rescued from the farmhouse of Raveena’s close aide Rajasekhar in Kalenahalli in Hunsur Taluk after the SIT launched a rescue operation to find the kidnapped victim, police said. The victim will soon speak to the investigating team.
The kidnapping case was filed by the son of a woman who had worked at Revanas’ home for nearly five years. He claimed that his mother was abducted from her home on April 29 by Satish Babanna, a relative of Revanna.
Since then, the victim was imprisoned by Rajashakar at his farmhouse in Kalenali, Hunsur taluk.
Siddaramaiah Talks HD Revanna Arrested
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said he will not interfere in the investigation into the HD Revanna sex scandal case.
“I will not interfere in the matter because action must be taken according to the law. He sought to pre-empt the kidnapping but failed and was arrested. I have not spoken to the police yet,” he said.
Prajwal Revanna’s anticipatory bail rejected
At the same time, the anticipatory bail application of Prajwal Revanna, the accused in the sexual assault case, was also rejected by Justice Santosh Gajanana Bhat of the Bangalore People’s Representative Court on the same day.

Notably, both HD Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna are facing serious charges of sexual assault and filming the act.
The first case of sexual harassment against the father and son was registered at the Holenarsipura police station in Hassan district on Sunday based on a complaint from a woman working at Revanna’s house.
In another major update in the case, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s office said a special team probing the alleged sex scandal involving Prajwal Revanna has informed the chief minister that the CBI may issue a ‘Blue Corner’ report against JD(S) Notification” to Representative Hassan, who is said to have left the country.
International police cooperation agencies issue Blue Corner Notices to collect additional information from their member countries about an individual’s identity, location or criminal activity.
