None of the PCB office or employees should comment on India’s participation in ICC Champions Trophy next year, says the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
On a silent mode, Parami News has gathered that he is awaiting ICC’s intervention but at the same time preparing for the tournament in hope that India will participate.
There were no updates from Naqvi or any other board officials suggesting what would happen to Pakistan cricket team if India did not send their players to contest here anymore.
Naqvi stayed away from making unnecessary controversies through this directive.
The PCB has already submitted its draft schedule and all relevant documents including security plans for different teams to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
By avoiding speculation on India’s final decision, Naqvi seems determined to proceed with preparations regardless.
“The PCB has sent the draft schedule and submitted all other documents including security plans for each team to the ICC now it is for the owners of the CT to convince India to send its team,” the insider said.
At present, PCB’s main concern is renovation of three match venues – Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi before September 20 when an ICC venue inspection team arrives.
Naqvi aims behind-closed doors approach then makes final strategies with government after Indian decision not yet responded to in public glare.
“Clearly pcb won’t show its cards as naqvi doesn’t want to show what would be bccs cards if india refused again after meeting govt officials behind closed doors but strategy has been finalised,” added a source from Islamabad.
Moreover, Mohsin Naqvi who doubles up as an Interior Minister advocates against creating unnecessary controversies over mainstream and social media platforms concerning Indo-Pak cricket.
