Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat received a warm welcome at the Delhi Airport on Tuesday after winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.
Sehrawat in his first ever Olympic games, won the bronze by defeating Puerto Rico’s Darian Cruz 13-5. This achievement saw a big group of people congregating in terminal three of the airport to receive him.
On Tuesday, the Indian Hockey Team also arrived back in Delhi after achieving a bronze medal in Paris. India stood 71st on the overall medals table whereas United States finished ahead with 126 medals.
“Winning a medal for my country made me overjoyed”, Aman Sehrawat told ANI. “I am too happy and still can’t believe that I have won an Olympic medal for our country… I was hoping for the gold but I am happy with bronze as well…” he said.
Moreover, Sehrawat shared his feelings about standing on that podium. “I don’t know how to explain it; it’s just like I had no words when I stood there… Starting this day onwards, my next goal is to get ready for 2028 Olympics and 2026 Asian Games,” he added.
This young wrestler has planned out his future endeavors including participation in 2026 Asian Games and 2028 Olympics where he hopes to build upon his achievements so far.
