For the women’s 25m pistol qualification at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Manu Bhaker, an Indian shooter, scored 590–24x and was placed second. Esha Singh finished 18th with a total of 581-17x.
As a result of this, Bhaker has qualified for the final of the women’s 25m pistol to be held tomorrow (3rd August) at Chateauroux-1:00 PM IST. However, only eight shooters managed to reach such level.
In precision stage, she got 294 while in rapid it was .296. At the Paris Olympic Games Manu Bhaker has won two bronze medals already.
If she gets another medal on Saturday, she will become India’s first athlete to win three medals in individual events at the Olympics. Also this would be a record three medals by any Indian athlete during one edition of the Olympics.
Manu Bhaker is just twenty-two years old and also won gold in Youth Olympics; therefore she could become India’s most successful Olympian ever.
On the other hand Esha scored 291 in precision and failed with only one point behind as her rapid score was of 290 but did not go through to qualify into women’s final for women’s 25m pistol shooting event.
Among today’s participants, one should mention Hungary’s Veronika Major who broke up an Olympic qualifying record and is currently leading with her score being equal to precisely five hundred ninety-two marks.
Result: The rankings positioned Manu Bhaker (IND) as second with a total score of 590 and Esha Singh (IND) in position eighteen with a total score of 581-24x following women’s qualification round for forty-five caliber guns within approximately twenty-five meters. Thus Manu advanced to next stage – finals.
