However, the athletics venue is different; it will be held at the Stade de France on Sunday during the closing ceremony of Paris Games.
The beauty of Paris was largely showcased by the organizers through the games. The sand for beach volleyball game was set up next to the iconic Eiffel Tower. Whereas, having events in Seine River, which has high pollution levels, turned out to be more demanding than thought.
The closing ceremony is scheduled to start at 0030 IST (Monday) and is expected to last a little over two hours. It will involve customary acts like athletes’ parade and delivering Olympic flag to 2028 Los Angeles Games organizers.
For the handover, H.E.R., who has won five Grammy Awards, will sing US national anthem live from Stade de France.
Moreover, there will also be a medal presentation ceremony for women’s marathon that took place earlier in the day.
Unlike Seine River where it took place earlier this month, closing ceremony occurs in conventional place such as Stade de France. Nonetheless, it should not be seen as an ordinary event since it will be directed by Thomas Jolly who worked as Artistic Director for opening ceremonies of both competitions.
A statement issued by the organizers says that “there are over a hundred performers – acrobats, dancers and circus artists.”
Music performances will take place and “…”meaning that world famous vocalists would complete them…Some of what is shown would take place on air while humongous sets, costumes and dramatic lighting effects would guide viewers through time across different ages both past and future.”
“It’s a very visual show I think with dance elements that really make it quite acrobatic but with opera mixed into sort of rendering in fresco painting saying goodbye to all athletes from around world,” said AP quoted Mr Jolly who directed this year’s closing ceremony.
