Last weekend, a man from Pakistani and his five hired workers cut off the leg of a camel after it encroached onto his field for food. This occurred at Mund Jamrao village in Sanghar district of Sindh province.

Subsequently, he released a video on social media showing the damaged legs of the camel which went viral.

On this basis, animal rights activists and masses called for legal action against the culprits as soon as they saw that video. Subsequently, all six were taken into custody by Pakistani police following their arrest through that video.

To that end, political leaders have arranged to fly in an artificial limb from Dubai.

The owner of the camel Soomar Behan who is just a poor farmer did not go to report to the police but was contacted by concerned authorities when this news became known.

“The camel was immediately transported to Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) animal shelter in Karachi, while we have ordered prosthetic leg from Dubai for it,” said Secretary Livestock Kazim Jato during his visitation to the facility in compliance with directives issued by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah of Sindh Province.

The secretary mentioned that the cost of treating this pet will be met by the government whereas Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is connecting with Dubai on behalf of Pakistani Peoples’ Party (PPP) so as to organize about this matter.Healing has started taking place on its broken limb and it will be x-rayed tomorrow Tuesday for planning next steps towards its cure, Jatoi added.

According to police officials since the injured farmer refused disclosing anything about what happened and did not lodge any complaint they had registered an FIR under section 342 against six unidentified persons on behalf of state before these men came into sight. The weapon used has not been found yet; investigations continue unabated.
